Innovative and
inter-disciplinar character of method of the video coloristical observation
In the
sociology under the video coloristical observation can be considered as a
particular method of gathering ethnosociological data or the integrated
research strategy, id est the methodology of social and humanitarian researches
of coloristical trend, including a great value of direct and indirect
conditions and suppositions.
While
considering the video coloristical observation not as the alternative for other
research approaches, but as one of the methods of social sciences, we should
remark frequent use of other methods together with it, e.g., ethnocoloristical interview
[2, 3, 5, р. 81–83], method of a case study [4, p. 32–36] etc. Thus we expand the substantial
part of the video coloristical observation, including results from using other
methods.
We also
assume that the process of getting knowledge about natural phenomenon of the
color, complex and additional colors, graduations and their characteristics,
about color culture and language of color, which are acquired during the human
life and used for creation and further communication with the visual environment,
therefore we assume that the novation method of the video coloristical
observation is inseparably connected with the videoecology [1] and
ethnocoloristics [3].
The main
distinctive characteristic of this method is the observation process in a
particular moment of the examined event. In order to intensify the efficiency
of observation a great role play a preliminary research roadmap, which reflects
initial ideas about characteristics of the examined object, required facts,
terms and means (including technical means) of the information gathering,
observation places, composition of observers etc.
The main
phases of the video coloristical observation are the following:
· Defining of
the object and subject of observation:
· Defining of
goals and tasks;
· Choosing of
way and time of observation;
· Preparation
of technical devices;
· Gathering of
video coloristical information:
· Fixing of
results;
· Control from
the part of other observers;
· Report about
the observation.
A particular
attention is paid to the process of fixing results, because, e.g., if the
observer wrote down the result after a long time had passed from the moment of
ending of the video coloristical observation, than because of occurred
inaccuracies a certain part of the fact material can be lost or distorted.
Particularly, while realization of the video coloristical observation in order
to define the conformity of using the color in the names of the Yellow and Red
seas was revealed that these names are fair: as the result of falling into the sea
of yellowish river silty and muddy waters (especially during the flood) and
because of microscopic red coloring algae.
The main
requirements for the professional training of observers include comprehensive
mastering of coloristical knowledge and skills based on the particularities of
color characteristics in the traditional culture of ethnos. The observer should
as well master basis of ethnocoloristics, ethnopedagogy, psychology, biology,
physiology, ecology and other allied disciplines which has a positive impact on
his capability of forming integral view of the world.
The
importance of the ethnocoloristical interview consists of the fact that this
method helps to form the integral notion about modern world around a man, as
well as contributes to forming of the spiritual culture of a person, expressed
in the daily need in beauty. As the example we can cite the results of the
video coloristical observation, based on a wide range of the information
sources, given in the following table.

We should
note that in order to compile all the aspects of visualization during the
process of development of impression about the environment appeared the need to
introduce and successively study a new scientific branch of coloristics – video coloristics (lat. video means “to see”, color means color), and such a course is
taught from 2010 in the College of architecture and construction №7, Moscow for
students of specialities “Decorative and applied art and people crafts”, “Architecture”,
“Garden and park landscape construction” [1, p. 191–196]. The visualization of
information got during the educational process contributes to increasing of its
adoption. But the efficiency of the visualization process (to visualize means representation in a visual form, perceived by a
spectator with naked eye or with the help of optical device ) depends on
several factors, including the right choice of color palette. The work of
visual analyzer as the element of visual system (which helps by means of eyes
transfer information to the visual center in brains, situated in the
occipitalis part of a head) contributes to further forming of 3D vision of the
world, seen by a human being.
Knowledge about modern coloristical state of a visual environment, about
global problems and perspectives of its development orient a person towards the
practical activity of examination of the ambient visual space, including
determining and removing of polluting factors.
