THE SYSTEM
OF STEMS FOR MASS-EXCHANGE
The
utility model concerns to the biotechnology and can be used for the cultivation
of cells in liquid mediums by manufacture of viral vaccines and biologically
active substances.
The
known device for the cultivation of cells (DC), which contains the cylindrical case with the bottom
from non-magnetic material and the technological branch pipes, the established
disk executed from a magnetic material at the bottom of case with the central
basic core on its one part, and also a drive of a disk in the form of
electromagnets located on a circle under a bottom of the case in regular
intervals, which are consistently connected to the power supply (for example, À.ñ. The USSR
¹1726508, Ñ12 M3/00, 1992).
The
lack of this DC consists in low efficiency of mixing which leads to decline of
productivity of the cultivation and product manufacturing.
The
specified lack is caused by passive mixing of the cultural liquid in its top and
average layers as the disk located on the bottom of the case has no elements
directly co-operating with them.
The
closest to the utility model for a technical essence and achievable effect and accepted for the nearest analogue DC which contains the
cylindrical case with a bottom from non-magnetic material and the technological
branch pipes, a disk executed of a magnetic material established on the bottom
of the case with the central basic core on its one part and the mixing element in the
form of a core on its opposite part, and also a drive of a disk in the form of
system of electromagnets located on a circle under a bottom of the case which
are consistently connected to the power supply in regular intervals (for example,
the patent of Ukraine for useful model ¹ 12120, Ñ12M3/00, 2006).
The lack of known DC consists also in low efficiency of mixing, especially
in the bottom layers of a liquid which inevitably leads to decline of
productivity of the cultivation.
The specified lack is caused by that the mixing element in the form of
the central core does not provide active mixing of a working liquid in its
average and benthonic parts.
The basis of the utility model is the task of improvement of DC in which the
intensification of the mass exchange of a working liquid in its average and benthonic parts
which raises intensity and uniformity of mixing is provided by introduction in
a design additional mixing elements and their eccentricly slanted arrangements and serves
productivity growth.
The given task is solving by that in DC which contains the
cylindrical case with a bottom from non-magnetic material and technological
branch pipes both placed at the bottom of the case and the disk executed from a
magnetic material with the central core on one part and central mixing core on
the opposite side, and also a drive of a disk in the form of system of
electromagnets located on a circle under the bottom of the case which are
consistently connected to the power supply in regular intervals, according to
the utility model the new there is that the disk is equipped by additional mixing cores which are
located on a circle in regular intervals and are placed slanted to a disk axis.
The disk equipment by additional cores which are placed on a circle in
regular intervals and are aslant focused to a disk axis, intensifies the mass exchange
of a
working liquid, especially in its bottom and average layers which raises
intensity and uniformity of mixing owing to what growth of cells is
accelerated, and also intensity of the cultivation increases.
The offered DC is represented on the drawing.
DC contains the cylindrical case 1 with a bottom 2 of non-magnetic
material and a cover 3 and technological branch pipes 4 for leading and removal
of a working liquid.
The mixing disk 5 is located on the bottom 2 of the case 1 and executed
from a magnetic material with the central basic core 6 on one (bottom) part and
the centrally fixed mixing core 7 on another (top) part. The core 7 exceeds level of a working
liquid 8 in the case 1 in height. A disk 5 is equipped by additional mixing cores 9, which are
located on a circle with the diameter "D" in regular intervals and
placed aslant under a corner

" to a disk axis.
The drive of a disk 5 is carried out from the electromagnets 10 established
under the bottom 2 on a circle in regular intervals which in a pulse program
mode are connected consistently to the power supply 11. Cores 7 and 9 in
cross-section can have the round or flat form. The flat form of cores with
their identical weight with round-one, increases the area of their interaction
with a working liquid which in addition improves the mass exchange, under the
identical other conditions.
DC works in the
following way.
At inclusion of an occasion the electromagnets 9 generate a rotating
magnetic field which draws a disk 5 owing to what it comes at oscillatory
sinusoidal movement round the bottom point of a basic core 6. Fluctuating disk
5 and a core carry out moving of the cultural liquid 8, a disk 5 and a core
6 - mainly benthonic layer, a core 7 - top, and the aslant located cores 9 -
average and bottom layers.
In comparison with the nearest analogue, the offered DC provides at the
expense of the additional mixing of the
cultural liquid with cores
9, the increasing of uniformity of distribution of nutrients and cells which
creates additional conditions for growth of cells and serves for the growth of
productivity of the process.
