SYNTHESIS
AND GROWTH-REGULATING ACTIVITY OF 3-ALKYL(ARYL)-1H-PYRAZOLE-4-CARBOXYLIC
ACIDS
Pyrazolecarboxylic acids
and their derivatives are widely represented in the list of modern pesticides
that are used in agriculture [1]. Therefore, the development of optimal and
efficient methods for the synthesis of pyrazole systems with carboxylic
function is a priority task for chemistry of fine chemicals.
We have optimized the
method of synthesis of 3-alkyl(aryl)-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acids 3, which produces the desired compounds
in high yields (80-90%) by Vilsmeier-Haack formylation of available
semicarbazones of methylketones 1,
followed by selective oxidation of 4-formylimidazoles 2.

Preliminary studies of
growth-regulating activity of pyrazole-4-carboxilyc acids 3 in laboratory experiments on winter wheat cultivar “Bezostaya”
show that almost all compounds at a concentration of 0.01% are inhibitors of
root formation.
