The role
of games in the development of future
elementary
school teachers’ creative skills
Development
of personal creative abilities is one of the most actual problems of a modern
society. Social and economic changes first of all have predetermined necessity
of changes for development of personal creative abilities. For the decision of
the given problem teachers should have formed creative abilities.
Nowadays
analyses have shown that the work on the development of secondary school
students’ creative abilities is not at high level. Due to the results of observations
and interviews it was found out that teachers confined themselves to teaching
material development rather than students’ creative abilities development.
Creativity
in a broad sense means search, creation, production. In educational activity
pedagogical creativity opens a way to science, promotes knowledge of the
natural phenomena, national, cultural and universal values to the students.
In
the philosophical dictionary
"creativity" is an activity of the educated person of a new formation able at a new qualitative level
to build his attitude to something [1].
G.Noyer
sees the creative person as the person that integrates such qualities -
creative thinking with innovation and innovative activity, marks out the
following components of the creative person:
·
Flexibility of thinking
·
Imagination
·
Ability to continue doing work
·
Breadth of thinking
·
Ability to see the new, ability to distinguish
·
Ability to take risks
·
Developed interest, strong motivation
·
Belief in the powers, steady emotion
·
Readiness for intensive long and additional work [2].
As
a result of the all round analysis of the process of creativity pedagogical
creative abilities development conditions are elementary school teachers demonstration
of intuition and motivation, then inspiration, their abilities of new ideas finding,
drawing up of plans and their consecutive realization.
As
the basic tool of the future elementary school teachers’ creative skills
development we choose game. For acknowledgement of the high practical
importance of students’ creative abilities development by the help of game
activity we consider to carry out more expediently the careful analysis of the game.
The
well known psychologist investigating social cast of player’s mind, D.B.Elkonin
considered: «Game is the practical knowledge within the social activity of the
person». In educational process game is a separate didactic category which can
be both the form and the means [3].
The
game theory and practice are being investigated by domestic and foreign teachers,
psychologists, and sociologists. So, for example such works as «Psychology of
the game», E. Bern’s «Games for people» are already written. The social orientation
of the game consists in the preparation for work. By means of games describing
realistic life situations we can see such person’s qualities that define
diligence. Games are directed on mental and physical development of the person.
The above mentioned features show interrelation and interference of the game
and work. Hence it follows the social role of the game providing both the
separate person’s and all the society’s development [4].
It
is necessary to notice that many tendencies, trends and schools in a cultural
life and art have occurred from games as personal creative self display is
formed in the game and develop his imagination and feelings also resource and
enterprise.
According
to A.S.Makarenko the subjective sight at the game in the pedagogical process
leads to its wrong use. In many cases teachers forget that the primary goal of any
game is to give joy to children [5].
N.K.Krupskaya
in her works pays the big attention to the role of the game in a child’s life. As
for our contemporary, talented teacher A.S.Sukhomlinsky he considered: «It is
impossible to form and develop thinking out of game. Game is like a window to
the world where the inner world of the person borders on the life reality and
which promotes broadening of his outlook» [6].
Games
are a product of human consciousness. Creative activity of consciousness
consists in children’s cognition of the world they live and which they should
change.
In
the conclusion it would be desirable to notice that the future elementary
school teachers’ creative skills development demands responsibility, scholarship,
workmanship, scientific researches and hard work. The right use of the game in the
creative abilities development will render beneficial influence in the preparation
of the highly skilled specialists.
