A Good Beginning Makes a Good Ending

  It is quite understandable that English Language has become a world language in politics, science, trade and cultural relations. It is the language of computer technology. So most things are published in English and if you want to keep up with the latest ideas in any subject, you need English.

  Below you find the samples of some activities, some of them are really original, tested, in practice and they are definitely successful in learning English.

  It goes without saying that from the first English lessons, (it is like a starting point of the whole process), it is necessary to use activities and games in the foreign language classroom. First of all, they enhance language learning in a way that students don’t really feel that they are really studying; it is learning through fun! And who doesn’t enjoy having fun for a change? Or would you rather sit in class, bored as you could ever be, trying to learn smth in the dullest way possible?

  The goal ought to be not just through the hard work and cramming but through the interesting, creative and funny activities. It helps children to forget that they communicate on an unknown and different language and take studying process as a game.

  The main things we distinguish our starting level:

-         high level of education;

-         interest in foreign language;

-         psychologically comfortable atmosphere;

-         educational process it self;

-         over educational activities.

All language teachers ought to come to the classroom with its practical view. Communicative language teaching helps the student to not only understand the language but also to use it in “real” situations.

  As it was mentioned above I want to point out again-lessons must be interesting and informative but not boring and stressing. Students should not be afraid of:

-         having its own point of view;

-         being right or wrong (mistaken);

-         going to the blackboard and telling his opinion;

-         singing, dancing, playing, expressing their emotions.

  And of course, emotional comfort is on of the most important things in the success full educational process.

  Everybody knows, there is a great number of a different game for all kinds of speech activities, but to choose the right ones in a one single link and unit it’s a task for the qualified, efficient, creative teacher.

  It is possible to learn while playing games? Of course, it is! The games sometimes are much more effective at helping you acquire foreign language skills than other types of exercises.

  Thanks exactly to your lessons and you yourself students are free, relaxed, kind, not afraid of adults able to get along with other classmates; they are vigorous, enterprising and self-confident, can work really hard and later pass exams.

  From the very beginning of the lesson they enjoy the whole atmosphere of it. Greetings. At first lessons you greet everyone by name: “Hello”, “How do you do”, “How are you”, “Glad to see you”, “Good morning”, “Fine to see you again” and so on. Even you may touch you student’s shoulders, hands. They really feel that you are glad to see them. The essential part of each first every day situates rhymes, poems, lessons tongue-twisters corrects. Carefully chosen they train pronunciation of complicated sounds, fluency, the feeling of competition and like poems-artistic presentation.

  In accordance with the conversational topic of the lesson students may be “animals”, “birds”, “guides”, “passengers”, “pilots”, “politicians”, and play different situations so real in our life.

  To train and develop attention and, quick reaction, is a ball game which is for all levels. You can ask anything you want, for example “Give me the past participle of an irregular verb”. This is a fast game and it is great for reviewing Voc. It’s an example of the hundred games of such kinds.

  There are a lot of grammar games. Each game focuses one ore more points of English grammar. A specification is given for each game describing its level, materials needed, grammar points practiced and time required. Grammar games enables teachers to integrate grammar practice into their classes in novel and motivating ways.

  And of course, songs! One of the favorite activities. It combines all kinds of the memory. On the blackboard there are pictures reffecting the meanings of unfamiliar words or simply their translation the students are singing, moving, performing the words and actions and even their feelings. But all songs are also connected with the conversational topic of the lesson.

  Everyone may be a real actor at the lesson but may be an actor of our English theatre. It is better to have 2 new plays every year but it is another story. A lot of emotions students have when they have studies outside (the Fine Art Museum, the Zoo or the Planetarium, Sightseeing tour around the city and ets).

  Play “Hangman” and discover new words. Different topics may be used: “Meather”, “Furniture”, “Transport” and so on. Don’t ignore our blackboard! All you need for great to have special “Long day”. Students have only English-speaking lessons. They write, read, speak and play only English.
